關於EAD RENEWAL

My EAD is going to be expired soon. I did not use it to work since I have two kids to take care. Now I am thinking if I need to renew it. My questions are as follows:

1. The expiration date is mid next month. If I submit the renewal application now. Most likely the renewed card valid date will be after the expiration date. Thinking of this, can I still renew it or have to file a new application?

2.How much does it cost to renew the EAD? How much does it cost to apply a new card? If renew a card is cheaper, then I will renew it.

Sorry, I should be able to find some of the informations on the official website, but I have two little kids to take care and have no time to search. so anyone if you know the info, please help reply me.
