1. yes. but bring the relevant documents, like I-797 and employment letter for H-1. within 30 days, you should be able to come back
2. don't know much about this part. the immigrantion officer gave us a landing paper, which he said will be able to allow us to enter Canada next month (we landed at the end of July. we are working in US. we will finish our job at the end of this month and then go to canada). the maple card will be mailed to my friend in Canada in four weeks. but I don't think we need the card for the next entry.
