身份轉換

I have a question about status change and seriously need some advice on what to do next. Thank you for taking the time to hear my case. My current status is a Ph.D student on OPT, F-1 visa. I have two EAD cards, one from my student OPT application which will expire Oct. 1 2008, the other from my hu*****and's(I am included) green card application which will expire this December and can be renewed yearly. I am working a job and my dissertation at the same time. But I am afraid that I can't finish my dissertation before My I-20 expires this December. My biggest concern is that will I be able to keep working using the EAD card from my hu*****and's green card application if I lose my student status. If I can, do I need to switch to H-4 status before my I-20 expires? That raises another concern. I don't know if I can remain in the Ph.D program after I switch to H-4 status because I do want to finish the program and get my degree.
