When Company B file H-1B transfer petition for you, your H-1b status will be updated up to another 3-year duration. Please note that H-1 renewal means your current employer (company A) file an H-1 extension petition for you; H-1 transfer is another employer (Company B) file an H-1 transfer petition for you. These two is different.
