I respect the discussions in this forum. Please help me decide what it the best way for my mother's situation.
My father passed away and my mother is visiting us right now. This is her 2nd visit.
Her visa will expire on 12/27/2008.
Her I-94 will expire on 9/8/2008 (Her entrance date was 3/8/08)
I have GC and the citizen interview will be on 8/18. I would like my mother to apply her GC after my citizenship.
My mother would like to fly back China on 9/8.
If I have my oath in December, she will come back before her visa expiration date (12/27).
My concern is if she can get her I-94 at the Customer since she already stayed US for 6 months and her immediate visit is after 3 months stay in China.
Does she need to stay longer than 6 months and re-apply visa? My mother is old and I don't have siblings so it seems a burden for her even with ZhongXin's help.
Another option is that we try to visit Canada before 9/8 and hope she will get a new I-94.
The concern is I am not sure when is my oath since I waited for more than 2 years for my citizen interview due to the name checking.
Please help us judge the options. Thank you!
