This will be the best way for me if it works! I don't have to leave u.s., then enter again as a visitor;then leave again to get the new TN.

I still have some concerns: If the immigration officer at the border know I was laid off,and stayed here more than 1 month, will I be denied for the new TN visa? Thanks a lot!
