Renew advanced parole

我的AP今年9 月份到期。現在我9月底要回國做一周課題，為了節省時間，想續AP。請問申請程序和第一次申請是一樣的嗎？我現在是H1簽證。如果我回美國時用AP，影響我的H1身份嗎？
