You can try, but don't rely on that the 140 will be approved. Also based on the backlog in visa buletin, you have no way to concurrently file 485, and can't get EAD anyway. You will have to go through the H1-b process. Also even if you have EAD (485 based) it is not safe to use it, for once you 140 gets denied, you will lose your status completely.
