LZ story is a special but misleading

it happens to a lot of people who just start a career: impatience.

It is politically correct to have a good relationship with direct boss, and respect him or her. If so, he or she will be happy to assist your GC case.

On the other hand, LZ is lucky due to unexpected restructuring, and smart to take on the opportunity.

However, LZ situation with the company is risky unless she is promoted to the same or higher level than the direct boss.
