Don't worry, you have a quite friendly RFE. You should include all the citations on your chinese publications, which must be very useful. The INS will not pay attention to the nature of your publication (are they able to? are they so dilligent learning?), instead they only pay attention to whether you have certain influence in your area, i.e., how do you distinguish yourself from your american peers.

Also try to ask your friends to send some "request for reference" on any of your publication or "request for cooperation".
