urgent help needed!

Hi Friends,

Here is my situation: my company has finianal problem now and my project has been frozen maybe until next year. I probably will lose my job next month. Given this situation, I have to look for a postdoc position in a university.

My questions are:

1) I was a postdoc with an H1b visa 3 years ago. Do I just need to renew my old university H1b visa or do I need to apply a new one?

2) If I want to return to industry someday, do I just need to renew my industrial H1b and start to work after submitting my renewal application?

3) At the time period when I am as a postdoc, can I be a contractor / work part time for a company? If so, how?

4) What are the steps I should take now: submit new university H1b application ----> resign , or in an opposite way, or doesn't mather

Please help me if you know or have similar experience. Thanks in advance.
