匯報一下我的綠卡申請過程，給還在等的朋友們一點信心

Yesterday I recieved a notice email for USCIS saying my case was approved. It was a big surprise.

It is actually my wife case. She started green card processing in Oct 2003 with EB3. It took more than 3 years to get the first step (labor certificate) approved, then another half year for I140 to be approved. At the time the I140 (EB3) was approved, she became qualified for EB2. So we asked her lawyer to filed a new I140 with EB2 and to claim the original priority data, which is Oct 2003. We filed I140 (EB2) and I485 together on 06/28/2008 and received by USCIS on 06/29/2008, just one day before the rush in July.

At that time, I was also eligible to file I485 (EB2 with PD of June/2006). But my lawyer recommended not to file a duplicate case. I was a little worried but listened to my lawyer.

The new I140 (EB2) of my wife was approved just two months ago. We didn't expect I485 can be approved so soon. Because my wife changed from EB3 to EB2 and our application was so close to the massive applications in July 2007, we don't know if our case can processed timely. But it just came.

It seems now once the case is being processed, it will get approved very soon. So for those who are still waiting, don't worry too much. It will come. Anything can happen, may yours will come tomorrow :)
