not correct.
If you are in valid H1, or you have valid AP when you leave US, your pending AP renewal is not affected. However, you should return before old AP expires or use valid H1 visa stamp becuase using the new AP (approval after you left) to return may invite a lot of questions by USCBP.

Your EAD renewal is not affected as long as you filed it when in US and I485 pending though out the 765 process.
