No. should be within 120 days. And if you don't work (or can work using H1B) or no plan to travel abroad, you don't even need EAD or AP.
If you don't work (using EAD), you can file EAD and AP after you return, knowing that they might not get approved before your current one expires. If you work using EAD, better renew EAD before you leave.
