EAD,H1B, & GC question again

Thanks for those answered me earlier. I want to know when people say "your EAD will be invalid when your GC application is denied", when I can know for sure that my GC application will be granted or denied, once I filed I140 and I485. The reason I ask this is because I am currently using H1B in a company (half time), and wanted to use EAD (from my hu*****and's GC pplication) to work in another company. Even though I wanted to keep my H1B (because it's safter), I know that this H1B will become invalid once I use my EAD to work in the other company. My concern is if my hu*****and's case is denied, I will lost my status by using my EAD. So because of that concern, I might stay in the first company and not working in the other one, and using my H1B for a while until we know for sure. But when/what stage? Thanks.
