We connected to TSC three time (my LD once and myself twice). I had one bad experience with a lady who told me nothing but repeating that "your case is pending". The other two experiences were quite nice. My LD learned that his NC cleared 10 days ago and I learned that our case were at the adjudication officer review and would have decision very soon. In face, our 485 were approved a week after my last call.
My personal experiences are: 1) if you want to check your status, you'd better connect with TSC. call a few times you might be lucky to talk to a nice one; 2) if your case is out of normal processing time, calling the customer service and having them issue a service ticket for you won't hurt.
