Because by law, you cannot work without authorization. Unauthorized work can be used as the reason to deny people in most GC categories (including all EBs). However, not yours which is based on marriage to USC.

Have you filed 290B to the local office? Don't mail it yet, you may be able to submiit in person at your infopass appointment, based on your GC category.
