I saw couple of your posts, here are my take:
1) I-140 denied means that your I-485 is also denied (it does not matter what USCIS online status is)
2)Since EAD is used, your status is AOS before 140 was denied, and immediately out of status after, that's why people are very cautious using EAD before 140 is approved (A big mistake made)
3)You can appeal your 140 to maintain your AOS status, but once it is denied finally, you will be in bigger trouble (remember, your illegal stay clicks now to the date your appeal denial) because appeal usually takes at least a year.
4)There are two choices:
a) file another 140, i.e. EB1A&B ASAP+appeal, then you can have another EAD to work
b) get H4 visa at US Canada or M (try your luck), risk is if they deny you application, you have to go back to China to apply your H4
Good Luck!
