Like many other customer services today

Not just immigration. When the person is not privy about your questions, they would just read whatever they can read, no matter how irrelevant the information is, or redirect your questions. They are not there to help.

Today, Customers are not God. Well, not exactly. Customers are God before sales, and beggers after they've got your money.
