NIW 140 approved after RFE at TSC

140 (Without COVER LETTER) submitted on July 26, 2007. (DHL lost my package, fortunately they found the package on Aug. 18 and re-delivered on Aug. 22. So lucky that USCIS accepted and receipted with date July 26.)

485 with second 140 submitted on Aug. 10, 2007 and returned to the lawyer on Nov. 15 due to PD. The lawyer resubmitted 485 on Nov. 24 with the first 140 receipt and USICS accepted it on Dec. 10.

Got RFE on Jan 24, 2008 and submitted the response on March 20. Approval notice sent today.

My Background:

Ph.D. in US, majoring in applied mathematics, now a postdoc

6 papers in good journals in my field for the first submission (3 1st author), 2 more accepted for the RFE (not first author). A few conference abstract, several conference presentations and department seminars, several small awards, about 40 citations (most are self cited or from the group).

9 recommendation letters for the 1st submission (all from Universities, 1 from UK, 1 from China, 4 indepedent)
NO COVER LETTER for the 1st submission
5 more new letters for RFE (4 independent, all from US Universities)
