For one thing, they made frequent, positive, contributions -- it is not their obligations, but they keep doing it anyway, and that is why they are respected here. To me, such long time altruistic efforts deserve more respect than a one-time hero (if any) who can 關鍵的時刻要做關鍵的事情! in this matter.

I think you should follow their examples: make positive contributions. And if you really think their involvement can be helpful, why don't you just ask them normally? What is the point of using sardonic comments like this? I don't see any -- except, perhaps, it shows how rightous you are -- if this hurts your feeling, my apology, and hope you see the point why we should be more positive.
