H1B Landing Canada

I got my H1B visa approval in US ( no visa stamp). I need to got to Canada landing very soon ( come back within 1 week). Should I get my H1B visa before my landing. I heard that I can't come back without a visa stamp on my passport. Is that true? Thank you very much for your help
