I'm going back to China next month, but will stay in Japan for a week to visit a couple of friends. I know it is generally easier to apply for US visa in Japan (not many people, convenient for appointment (free online, in China, the appointment costs you 50 RMB by calling) and transportation etc). I'm on H1B now, I485 pending for 3 years. I would like to continue with my H1b when I come back, therefore I need to apply for H1B entry visa either in Japan or Beijing (otherwise I have to apply for EAD after coming back). I prefer to apply for the entry visa in Japan, since I don't stay in Beijing for too long, does anybody have experience applying for H1B entry visa in Japan as non-japanese? How long does it take? I don't know if the visa officer in Japan will reject me and ask me to go back to China to apply for the visa or not. Any suggestions? Thanks.
