i can't remeber it exactly, but it's true. if you have submitted your opt application more than 30 days, you can request a "provisional permit" from INS located in Kansas city. i am not quite sure if you should go there in person or not. so, don't panic, you are positively safe. please check with the internatioal office of your school or INS' website.
