emergency case please help!!!

hi, I am a ethiopian and I can only speak english, a chinese friend of mine reccommended this to me.
I am a post-doctoral researcher on H1B1 visa of 6th year. The visa will expire march 31st, 2008. For some reason I did not apply green card so far. Now what i have to do to keep my legal status?
