Can my employer sponsor my green card without a H1B?

I'm currently working on a EAD card from the green card application of my hu*****and. My current employer agrees to sponsor a new employment-based green card for me. Since I don't have a H1B visa right now, can I go to the green card application directly?

Any response is highly appreciated?
