ask you pi or chairperson of department, or some above you, to write lik these:'' he/she is an outstanding researcher compared with his/her peer,and not easy to find a research to carry out the projects he/she is working with. therefore, his/her abscence would impair our ongoing projects......perm takes longer time to be approved. based on the above,please don't force her/him leave because of visa..."
