After landing, you and your wife are perminent residents of Canada. you don't need visa to enter Canada. You could enter Canada daily, no problem. However, in order to keep you PR of Canada, Canada has some redisdent requirments. I remembred that it was one has to live there 2 out of 5 or 6 years.
If you across the board of Canada/US by car, it is very easy. If you across the board by airplane, someone the office will check whether you are still qualify to be a PR.
Maple card takes 3 or 4 months to get it. I remembered that it doesn;t need any paper from US. Google, "CIC Canada", the website lists very document you might need.
I don't know if you need reapply F1 from Toronto.
You can landing first and then move you stuff there. Remember to tell the officer at board, " I have goods to follow".
