Questions about B-2 extension

My parents have been in the US for 5 months (got 6 months on I-94) and I'm planning to extend their stay for another 6 months. Can anyone help me with the following two issues:

1. On their B-2 visa, there is a sentence "no extension or adjustment of status". Is this common? Please let me know whether you can find the same thing in your parents'visa. Will this affect the extension?

2. What are good reasons to stay longer? Actually they're taking care of our baby. But I'm not sure if I should mention this. Or just want to visit more places in the US?
