The Risk of H1B Transfer When I-485 is Pending

Hi,

I was laid off recently and was about to change my job. I already got my EAD.

It seems that it is better to transfer my H1B instead of using my EAD.

I just wonder if there is any risk in transferring my H1B. I know some people had to leave the country to apply the visa when the gap between two jobs is too big.

I am still job hunting now and got a not so good offer. I wonder if I should transfer my H1B immediately or wait for a better opportunity.
Supposed my transfer is rejected or I am asked to leave the country and reentry, can I abort my transfer application then and use my EAD instead?
