DMV gave validity through new H1 expiration date (3 yr later). You need to bring an official letter from ISO clearly stating your new H1b expiration date. Also include your spouse H4 on the letter, if any.
Bring all your H1 renewal applicaton material and the cover letter from school to DMV.
