URGENT

My friend has an immediate immigration issue. He made a very big mistake that he forgot to extend his H-1b status. He was actually out of status for about 160 days. He was not aware of it until his university reminded him last week.

Are there any options for him to legally stay in the US? If not, are there any possibilities for him to get a new visa in the US embassy in China?

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!
