No big deal. I-9 form is a company's record to prove

it hires employee who legally allowed to work in US. The record is kept in the company until CIS inquires. Some company updates it once in while, others may totally forget it for years. You must fill that form or at least sign on it long time ago.

If HR asks you fill your H1 extension on it, it is ok.

but if you are asked to fill your EAD info, that may be a problem.
