You can take a try

Did you come in US with F1 original? If so, You can take a try. but not Rainbow bridge, lewiston bridge, peace bridge. There is one port in Kingston (Thousand Island Bridge). Not too many people go there, and most officers are nice. I guess because they donot deal with too many people. Don't tell them you went to US Consulate Genereal in Canada unless they asked you. Tell them the truth, and tell them you want to visa revalidation. You might not success, but that won't affect your F-1 visa anyway. Worse case is waiting for 4 weeks.
