I was in the same boat as you about a month ago. I filed the renewal on Jul 23 and they received my application on July 27. But it was still pending until my EAD expired - Nov 14. Therefore I can't work any more after Nov 14. I tried info pass, called the service center, it didn't help. On Nov 15, I decided to call a local senator's office to ask for help. The people work at the office are very nice. They asked me to explain the whole thing via e-mail. They made a call to the service center immediately after they received my e-mail and about 2 hours later the senator's office sent me an e-mail saying that my EAD was approved. I found out afterwards that the senator is the chairman of a committee which oversight the work of the department of homeland security. But anyway, call your local senator (the senater who represents your state)'s office to ask for help. It won't hurt you anyway. Good Luck!
