Do I need to apply new Chinese passport?

I am planning to go back to Beijing in May 2008 for two weeks, but my passport will be expired in June 2008. I wonder that is it OK to travel overseas with such a passport. Do I need to apply a new Chinese passport?

By the way, I have my green card.
