Subject: Reducing FBI name check backlog
Dear Honorable Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy,
I write this letter requesting your support of H.R. 3828, The Citizenship and Immigration Backlog Reduction Act. H.R. 3828 would reduce the backlog in processing requests made by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to the National Name Check Program of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
I am working in XXX since XXX. My area of specialization is XXX. XXX filed employment-based immigration petition on my behalf in XXX under XXX category for my permanent residency. The application (I140) was approved in XXX. However, my adjustment of status petition (I485) has been pending since XXX in USCIS due to the FBI name check.
The undue pending of FBI name check has caused extreme difficulties for my work and family’s lives in this country. I work hard but I lost all of the chances for promotion and for some research funds. We came to this country for freedom and a normal life; we work hard and contribute a lot in science to this country; we pay all kinds of taxes to local, state, and federal governments of this country; but our way to a life as a normal human being is blocked infinitely in this country by the so-called “FBI name check”…
Due to these extreme hardships, I request your assistance in normalizing the name check process. My whole family is expecting your great help! Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
