Responding to my WOM lawsuit, FBI and USCIS took actions and approved my name check and I485 petition in a very timely fashion. I don't believe your attorney could directly contact FBI. But, the assistant US attorney working on your case can request FBI to expedite your name check. I was prepared to receive the motion of dismiss from the US attorney. Fortunately, it never happened. As a pro se, I registered a PACER account (http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/) and got access to numerous useful past WOM case files. Good luck!
