NSC mailing address to correct gender information

I just called USCIS to find out when they can send me finger printing notice. The IO found that my gender information is wrong in their computer system (gender information not show on the 485 receipt). She said that I should write to NSC to correct it. Questions:
1. Should I write the letter or I should ask my lawyer to write it?
2. What documents other than my 485 receipt notice do I need to copy and send to USCIS? Passport, Birth Certificate?
3. Is it correct to mail to the following address?

For concurrent filing of Forms I-140/I-485:
USCIS
Nebraska Service Center
P.O. Box 87485
Lincoln, NE 68501-7485

Will really appreciate if some one who had simular situation can help.
