AP and I-94

Good morning!

When I applied F1 visa for my son, the california service center asked for sending all original I-94, but they didn't return to me.

After the approve of my son's F1 (from a private high school), we filed I-485 for him, then he decided to go to a public school (no F1 visa needs).

My family would like to visit China soon. I will apply AP for him. The question is: should my son has All ORIGINAL I-94 along with his AP when he enter USA or bring copies of his I-94? Thank you for your advice.
