Will un-stamped H1B become invalid if using AP to return and 485

Could you help me with the following question regarding AP.

My lawyer told me that AP could be used when re-entering the country, and in the mean time, H1-B is still valid. I am having a question regarding the validity of H1B in this case. If AP is used for re-entry, and if there is any problem with 485 application down the road, is the applicant required to leave the country immediately and apply for the H1B visa at the home country’s consulate, as H1B is not stamped for last re-entry(AP is used instead), Or the applicant could still remain and work here once H1B is valid.
