My GC process is very similar to yours. Same PD. Got approved on Oct 2007.
From most of the posts here and my own experience, I think that writing to First Lady might help (never hurt), but really if you are not very bad-luck (very few), you'll get it eventually. Don't do too much, don't think about it too much. This will make your life much happier. I worried very much during June-August 2007, took me a lot time everyday . It didn't help any!
