No, don't surrender the multiple-entry I-94 when leaving.

Even if you are leaving continent North America. Use it for next entry into US. This way, next time the officer at port of entry may ask you at best why you didn't surrender it the previous time.
It can be very useful in case the officer is not familiar with visa rules involving Canadian citizens.
