Yes, you can used your Chinese driver's license to drive a car for short time.

The reason I do not recommend you to do that is the insurance fee for a foreign driver's license in USA is much higher than with a USA driver's license. So why don't you try to get a local driver's license. It is pretty easy, within several days, you can get a learner's permit. With that you pay much lower insurance than with your Chinese license.
