Because you are a student, just talk to the hospital or the doctor and try to pay the bill by instalments such as paying $25.00 one month, etc (usually no interest is charged in this kind of case). I had the same experience when I was a student and I just paid $25.00/month without any interest after I negotiated with the hospital. It took me nearly ten years to pay off alll the bills.
