How to check NC status by calling USCIS?

Called 1-800-375-5283 several times and followed:
Press 1－>2->2->6->1
Enter your receipt number
press 1 (now listen to the case update info....)
press 3
press 4

Everytime it will be transfered to National Service Center and the lady would say she could not see the NC information and had to sumbit the request. I saw here some people knew there NC status by calling USCIS. How did you guys get this information? Was it by POJ method (but it is the same number as I called)? Or you have other tricks?
