Question to pjiang, please come in

I was recently out of job and I just filed my H4 a week ago (changed from H1). Today we got the 485 receipt. I heard if I got the receipt, I don't need to transfer from H1 to H4. My question is whether we can cancel the check for H4 now. Is there any consequence or negative influence to do that?
