TN-1 visa is non-immigrant visa. After you filed I-485, you are deemed having immigration intent. Therefore, your TN-1 renewal will be denied. If you are lucky, your TN-1 visa might be approved. Per my attorney, even merely applying TN-1 after I-485, essentially reaffirms your non-immigrant intent. Your I-485 will be rejected accordingly.

After I-485, only choice you have is EAD.
