both my wife and I got promoted shortly afte we filed our respective 485s. My wife's company asked her to wait until the 485 was filed after six months. She actually waited six months to be promoted.

My company lawyer did not think it's an issue. I was promoted shortly after I filed my case.

As you can see, either case worked. your situation will depend on how your company lawyer looks at this.

No big deal. you don't need to use your EAD at all.
