H-1B can only do regular

full-time work or contract W2 work. H-1B cannot do contract 1099 work or contract corp-corp work. Make sure your company won't treat you as 1099 contractor, but contract W2 employee.

W2 means the company deducts tax/FICA/UI/Medicare from your payroll. 1099 means they pay you in full, youself file tax with IRS, like self-employment.
